State Compensation Insurance Fund
Provide California employers with a permanent market for workers' compensation insurance protection at cost with no financial obligation to the public.
Compete fairly with other insurers and, by example, set the standard for fair premium rates, financial integrity, excellence in customer service, and impartial treatment of injured workers.
Assist employers in providing safe places to work. When a worker is injured, help restore that person to a useful place in the economy.
Consultative assistance is provided to employers through on-site visits, telephone support, publications, eTools and educational outreach. All services provided by Cal/OSHA Consultation are provided free of charge to California employers.
* This video describes Cal/OSHA's consultation services, which include free, on-site workplace health and safety recommendations. These services are completely independent of the OSHA enforcement program, and by law, its practitioners are prevented from communicating with the OSHA enforcement program. The video presents detailed information on the benefits of working with the consultation service, including improved workplace safety and reduced exposure to Workers' Compensation claims, and includes interviews with actual employers in industry, construction healthcare and other businesses.
